Welcome

Hi! Glad you are here.

I suppose that I should be diligent and look at how REAL authors write about themselves, but that would require effort, and besides, winging it is more evocative.

My primary goal in writing is to entertain people who will hopefully like the characters I have made up and the zany experiences they endure under the weight of my imagination. And may they forgive me.

I am a father and grandfather, which means I am old.

Since I mentioned "old" I might as well throw in some other career details that include: car sales, a librarian at a not-at-all-secret government facility, teacher at every grade from 7th to graduate school, web designer, videographer, radio producer, and a score more. I think that authors call this something like "life experience."

My full time job pays the bills. And guess what? My job is to write clear and concise (and interesting) educational content about my employer's main products. So yes, I am a full time writer.

Since you asked, sure, I'd like to be a full time writer pumping out my own entertaining fiction, instead. As it is, I am about a millionth of the way there. So help me out and buy my book. :)

For the record, my computer currently holds about 20 books at various levels of completion. Some fiction, some non-fiction. If I didn't need to work to pay the bills, I could probably crank out a book every quarter. Like I said, I already write all day long anyway. The "Issachon" series is complete through the first third of book 3.

I play guitar, read a lot, play computer games and board games, and ride my bike as much as I can. I also like to do woodworking and photography as a hobby.

Oh, and I was told by one of my beta readers who knows me pretty well that both Bendahrin and Alystra sound like me.

So, in order to get to know me, you can read what my characters would say to me.

Bendahrin - "If we're so alike, how come I'm rich and successful and you're twice my age and still trying to figure life out? How can I help?"

Jedra - "The Stream handbook describes people like you as, 'Easy, but not worth the effort as ransom.'"

Mandy - "You taught 7th grade? That's when I wrote my first thesis on the Melman calculations for controlling impossibility angle asymptotic drives. I would have found you fascinating!"

Erin - "Your pathetic lack of determination is what makes you weak. You should have published 30 years ago."

Alystra - "If you write about damaging my ship again, I'll go back in time and erase you."
